2013 is coming to a close and we are heading into a new year full of new hopes and possibilities. With a clean slate and chance to make a difference this year why not start off right with 3 easy ways you can be a more conscious surfer.

Tip #1 Commit to using more environmentally friendly transportation to the surf. Rather than drive by yourself everyday to your local break, why not try walking, riding a bike, or even carpooling to get there. You’ll not only save money on gas but will be making less of an impact on the environment.

Tip #2 Just grab a few pieces of trash already. We’re not saying go on a full fledged beach clean up every time you go surfing, but pick up a piece or two of trash that you see on the beach rather then walking right by it. Who knows maybe you’ll influence someone else to do the same.

Tip #3 Choose surf related products that are trying to make a difference. Now no need to go full granola on everything you own, but you can help reduces lot of environment waste by simply choosing more environmentally conscious surf products like recycled traction pads, bamboo fins, and organic sunscreen.

So what are you waiting for!? 2014 is here start making a difference in the world and in your surfing.
